Mother, Lover, Sister

The first image depicts Justine and her mother. Since we have no indication what she looks like, I drew her as the feminine angel statue we find in the catacombs. While Lily Mandus also would fit this Queen’s role of mother, I felt Justine’s mother had a more profound impact on her daughter and husband.

Alexander and his love, Separated from each other by his banishment, and he dedicated centuries to get back to her. Truly, she made him whole.

From what we know of Daniel’s backstory, Hazel was probably the most important person to him. His connection from Elise to her was what became his breaking point, his realization how far he had gone. Imagining him reading and hoping she wouldn’t die, in addition to her embrace before he went to Algeria is heartbreaking.
